The Next Step is a 22-bed extended care sober living program with two fully equipped residential homes in Kerrville, TX. We are dedicated to helping men transition from treatment into independent, purpose-driven lives through structure, accountability, and spiritual transformation.
We are more than a housing program, we provide the support, guidance, and foundation needed for lasting recovery.

Clinical Case Management
Clinical services are led by Ryan Acosta, LCDCi, PRS, who holds a degree in Substance Abuse Counseling from Midland College and certifications as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and International Life Coach. Residents receive structured guidance, accountability, and individualized recovery planning.
Financial Coaching &
Credit Repair
Led by Jason Dorman, Business Professionals Program Director, this program provides residents with education, tools, and coaching to rebuild financial confidence, improve credit, and establish long-term financial sustainability.


Physical Wellness
Residents receive access to Phoenix Wellness Center as part of their holistic care plan, supporting physical health, balance, and overall well-being.

12-Step Spiritual Recovery
We believe in transformation—not compliance. Our programming centers on consistent, committed engagement with the 12 Steps of AA, forming the heartbeat of our mission and the foundation for lasting recovery.


Creekview Counseling
Our staff is comprised of Master Level Therapists and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, plus an American Board of Addiction Medicine Certified M.D., all trained to address issues related to addiction, recovery, mental health, and family relationships. We view addiction as a family disease, which is most effectively treated when
the entire family receives education, support and new tools for positive, lasting change.

Through our nonprofit C.H.I.L.L. — Community Has It, Let's Live, residents participate in weekly healthy activities that foster joy, purpose, belonging, and meaningful community connection.

Recovery Medicine assists our clients in bridging the gap in their medical needs, exceeding the gold standard of outpatient care
