With experience as a former Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer overseeing more than $1 billion in assets across Texas, Jason now channels his expertise into helping residents build financial stability and personal integrity through the recovery process.
Known for his steady presence, accountability, and wisdom, Jason supports residents in developing essential life skills—such as budgeting, managing debt, and planning for the future—while encouraging the 12-Step principles that guide lasting transformation.
His leadership is a unique asset to The Next Step, combining real-world business experience with a sincere heart for recovery.
Blake Montgomery
House Manager
A Fort Worth native, Blake Montgomery has resided in Kerrville since the summer of 2025. As a Sober House Manager, Blake is deeply committed to supporting individuals on their recovery journey by creating a structured, safe, and encouraging environment for healing and growth.
With a heart for service and a strong belief in the transformative power of recovery, Blake understands that sobriety is about rebuilding lives, restoring dignity, and developing purpose. He leads with compassion while maintaining the clear boundaries and accountability necessary for lasting change.
Blake is passionate about fostering a culture of honesty, responsibility, and community. He works closely with residents to help them establish daily routines, strengthen coping skills, and develop the confidence needed to transition into independent living. His steady leadership ensures an atmosphere where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Jorge Escobedo
House Manager
Jorge Escobedo serves as a House Manager with a strong commitment to structure, accountability, and community involvement. Originally from Ciudad Juárez, Jorge has been actively involved in communities across North Texas since relocating to the area.
With professional experience as a home builder, Jorge has worked closely within communities throughout North Texas, gaining firsthand insight into responsibility, leadership, and the importance of stable environments. His background in construction has reinforced his belief in building strong foundations—both physically and personally.
In addition to his professional work, Jorge has extensive experience coaching youth sports, including boxing, football, and Little League. Through coaching, he has developed a leadership style centered on discipline, encouragement, teamwork, and positive mentorship, particularly with young people and families.
Known for his steady presence and approachability, Jorge focuses on maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive living environment. He emphasizes clear expectations, respectful communication, and personal responsibility while fostering a sense of community within the home.
